The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada is dedicated to encouraging improved understanding of astronomy for all people through education, outreach, research, publication, partnership, enjoyment, partnership, and community.
To do all this, the RASC offers its members many ways to get involved. If you have an interest in astronomy, and if you would like to spread the word about our great hobby, we would like you to help us out as a volunteer.
We need volunteers with all sorts of skills and expertise to help run our society and create our publications such as the Observer’s Handbook, the Journal and the Observer’s Calendar. If you wish to contribute to these publications, please contact the editors.
RASC Committee Volunteers
One way to volunteer is to join one of our national working committees. The time commitment is minimal, but the impact committee members make on these committees is significant. Depending on the committee or project, volunteers meet monthly or quarterly for a few hours in person or via teleconference.

RASC Centre Volunteers
A great deal of the RASC’s volunteer work is carried out by members at our 30 Centres, which are located in communities in every part of Canada. RASC Centres often call on volunteers to help with public outreach astronomy events and to help run Centre programs.
