ROBERT FREDERIC STUPART (1857-1940) joined the permanent staff of the Canadian Meteorological Service as a map-drawer when he was only 15. As Carpmael's successor as Director of the Meteorological Service, he graciously agreed to stand as Vice-President of the Society in 1896, becoming President in 1902.
