Jupiter on 1960 August 18/19 at 21:00-21:30 EDT (01:00-01:30 UT) as sketched by K.R. Brasch. C.M.(1) ~350º, C.M.(2) ~255º. 8" reflector at 165x. Seeing 3-5. Transparency 4-5. SSTeZ observed as a clear cut line for the first time. Festoon-like object extended from position of STB to southern edge of SEB. NTB & NNTB very definite lines, darker than usual.
