Charles Norman Haldenby had a life-long passion for observing the heavens. When he returned home after hte first World War, he enjoyed studying the summer sky from his family island at Rice Lake, Ontario.
Mr. Haldenby graduated as a Chemical Engineer from the University of Toronto. He continued his studies and received his Ph.D. in botany, confirming his interest in all the sciences. He died in 1985 at the age of 88.
