A new publication, the National Newsletter, was started in 1970. The resurrection of the Halifax Centre brought the number of Centres to 17. In 1976, the Society sold its home at 252 College St. and moved into rented quarters on Merton St. The first Astronomy Day (in Canada) was celebrated in Kingston in 1979.
