Mr. Elvins' House - Present Mr. Winder, Mr. Elvins, Mr. Turnbull, and Mr. Ridgway.

Minutes of last meeting read and approved.

Mr. Elvins read a paper respecting meteoric appearances. He introduced this paper by reference to a paper by Prof. Loomis [?] on a [word illegible] subject with a diagram illustrative of Solar Spots, Magnetic disturbances and Auroral display. Showing their harmony as regards predictability in increases or decreases.

The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed.

An interesting letter from Mr. Winder to Mr. Elvins was read detailing his visit to the Observatory at Cincinnati, and his kind receiption there by Prof. Abbé, a gentlemen who had worked along with Prof. Huggins.
