The Dale,
Toronto
8th Feby 1895
Sir
I beg to acknowledge your letter of 29th January enclosing a copy of a Resolution adopted by the Astronomical & Physical Society of Toronto respecting the death of my late brother-in-law, Mr. Charles Carpmael.
On behalf of his family I beg to thank the society sincerely for the very warm and feeling way in which they have referred to Mr. Carpmael's memory and to the services, which I know, he gladly rendered.
We also appreciate the handsome manner in which the copy of the resolution was expressed. I shall leave it appropriately framed and preserved for Mr. Carpmael's children.
Will you oblige me by communicating this to the Society at its next meeting.
With much respect
I am, my dear Sir,
Yours very truly
John Hoskin.
G. E. Lumsden Esq.
Secretary
The Astronomical & Physical Society of Toronto.
